TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – The U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West will present free concerts in Las Vegas, Nevada 20-22 April, 2018. On 20 April, the quintet will perform a 7:30 p.m. concert at the West Charleston Library Theater (6301 W Charleston Blvd.) The group will then play on 21 April at 7:00 p.m. at the College of Southern Nevada Jay Morrison Recital Hall (North Las Vegas Campus, 3200 E Cheyenne Ave.) The group’s final concert will be at Clark County Library (1401 E Flamingo Rd) on 22 April at 2:00 p.m.

The Golden West Winds is part of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West from Travis Air Force Base, California. The woodwind quintet is comprised of flute, oboe, clarinet, french horn, bassoon, and one percussionist. This ensemble supports a wide variety of musical events which include public concerts, military ceremonies, patriotic shows, and educational programs. The addition of percussion expands the musical colors, allowing this group to break the boundaries of a traditional quintet. The members of the Golden West Winds are all professional Air Force musicians working in support of Air Force and Air Mobility Command official military recruiting and community relations objectives.
