This heartbreaking story out of Illinois last month is an unfortunate, direct result of the truck parking crisis. Truck drivers who cannot find a place to park to take their mandated breaks are left with no other option than to park on the sides of interstates and exit ramps, posing a serious hazard to other drivers and to themselves.
